Survey Shows What Youth Think About Drugs

Can you recall your thoughts about alcohol and other drugs when you were a child?

Were you curious about drinking, because the "cool" kids drank? Were you trying to fit in?

Would you have felt left out had you not participated?

Or did it seem impossible to get close to that special boy or girl without being involved with the "drug scene"?

Today's youth face similar situations. Moreover, with TV, movies and the Internet, they are exposed to much more information than we were.

Some of it good, some can have negative effects.

So how can we give them the tools to differentiate between good and bad, truth and falsehood?

Here are some interesting survey results that shed light on kids' awareness of today's drug problem:

• 62 percent say more kids are using marijuana at school than in the past;
• 57 percent believe most people will try marijuana sometime;
• 51 percent feel many rock, rap and movie/TV stars make drugs seem "cool";
• 63 percent believe there will always be drugs in their communities.

This last one is alarming!

Over half the kids surveyed think drugs are here to stay!

That said, what can children do to avoid going down the dark path of drug use and what tools can we provide to help them?

The answer:

The answer: "The Truth About Drugs Video Series".

In fact, our current videos provide answers to why the above statistics are as they are and by knowing that, how to keep kids stay away from drugs.

Now like never before, it is vital to give kids the full "Truth About Drugs."

And you can help!
