Friends of Narconon President's Briefing--Issue 23   PDF  Print  Email

Can the War on Drugs Be Won?

In the year 2000, 1,288,650 pounds of marijuana, 149,844 pounds of cocaine,2,552 pounds of heroin were confiscated and the list goes on.

So what does all this effort cost our nation?

In the year 2000 alone the federal budget was 17.7 billion dollars to fight the drug war.

Can we win the war on drugs?

Depends on whether or not you believe in the movies.

In the movie Traffic, for example, a strange thing happens at the end, the good guys lose. The drug czar played by Michael Douglas declares we cannot win the war on drugs because the enemy is us--the American family.

If, on the other hand, you believe that conditions can be made to change for the better, then the answer is YES.

The way to do that is to re-educate our culture into the right line of thinking. This of course is a very big job and will take a lot of elbow grease to get done.

As such, I am extremely excited to introduce all of you to Sara Jonic.

She is now on board here at Friends of Narconon. She is in charge of the School Project.

Sara has already started saving lives by getting the truth to our youth about drugs.

I would like you all to join me in welcoming Sara to Friends of Narconon. Her email address is saraj@getcured.org. Or you can call into the office and say hi at 1-800-882-6862.

We are very excited to have Sara here. She brings a lot of energy to the group and is very pleasant to work with. I am sure you will all agree.

Remember, the way we will get this job done is by working together. So take a moment and get to know Sara. She can answer all your questions on how you can help us reach even more kids with our "Truth About Drugs Video Series"!

Welcome aboard Sara!
