The Result of a DEA Agent's Death

Each year we get requests from teachers for more videos during "RED RIBBON WEEK."

If you have not heard about it, you should know that this "National Drug Awareness Week" has been around for quite some time.

The National Red Ribbon Campaign began after drug traffickers in Mexico tortured and brutally murdered DEA Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena in March 1985.

Florida First Lady Columba Bush, Director of the Florida Office of Drug Control Jim McDonough, and Mrs. Mika Camarena, the widow of Special Agent Camerena, were in attendance at the kick-off event this year held on October 3, 2005.

Red Ribbon Week is celebrated nationally from October 23-31.

Agent Camarena's death was an unfortunate one. Could this have been avoided?

Let's just pretend for a moment. Imagine that we just reduced the demand for drugs from all the kids in America. Think about it.

What if at least 80% of the kids decided they were not going to use drugs, period. What do you think would be the impact on the demand for drugs? Would it go down or up?

Without a doubt the demand for drugs can be reduced. At Friends of Narconon we see the stories every day from school kids all across the USA.

In fact, all around the world, throughout the Narconon network we have large mounds of evidence that kids have changed their minds about drugs after getting a Narconon Drug Talk.

So the simple question is, why do things like Agent Camarena's death still happen?

Simple. Not enough volume. Think about it.

There are more than 60 million school aged kids in the USA. Last year Friends of Narconon reached over 1.4 million. See the large gap?

Well, all that is needed is more volume. We simply need to reach our targets to get the next 20,000 schools using our materials within this next year.

We can change the tide of devastation if we all pitch in.

I know you have heard lots of pleas for help. But trust me, when you're really old and grey, looking out your window, will you really want to wonder if you could have helped a little more? I don't think so. I know I won't.

That is why I volunteer so much of my time to this cause. When you see the success stories, you will see what we are talking about.

Help us reach more kids this month. We need immediate sponsorships for schools that have asked for our materials and need them right now.

I invite you to call in and have a few success stories read to you. I guarantee you, they will put tears in your eye's. (Yes, I get tears too!)

We look forward to hearing from you quickly!
