No Way, Not My Kid! Parents may be doing a good job of teaching their kids not to use alcohol or drugs, but what about the messages their kids are getting from some of their friends? There is quite a tug of war going on between what kids hear from their parents and what they hear from their peers. More importantly, parents perception of their kids exposure to drugs is completely different from the reality. Consider these statistics: Keeping kids from using drugs may mean keeping closer tabs on who their friends really are. Especially in the summer months when kids have much more free time on their hands to hang around with their friends. This can sometimes be very difficult for parents who are working and running the household. And while parents may be able to have a influence on their own kids, what can they do to handle the influences of other kids? During my last 14 years of research and development of the Friends of Narconon video program, one thing became very clear to me; most parents are in the dark about what really goes on in their kids lives outside of the family environment. More importantly, there are some key discoveries I made that really shed light on the actual problems parents are having and more importantly, what they can do about them. Here's the details: The solution to these and other problems can be found in the film "Why Parents Are The Last to Know" included in the "Marijuana: The Myth" DVD produced by Friends of Narconon. A common question posed by many parents I have talked to was "Why do my kids take drugs?." This is answered by the additional short film titled Why Kids take Drugs? which is also included on the DVD. While this information will help parents get a grip on why these things are going on, what can they do to ensure their kids have a better environment to have fun in? Simple - sponsor schools in their area to receive our popular Marijuana The Myth Educator's Kit. Teachers all over the USA are clamoring for the Friends of Narconon drug education materials. The main problem is that most of them have very limited budgets and cannot afford to pay for these materials. If you want to influence teenagers that your kids are no doubt going to be associating with, then this is one of the most effective ways you can do this. This way, when your kids are playing this summer they will be surrounded by kids who now have the truth about marijuana and will be more likely to avoid using it. This is a statistical fact. So don't wait! Sponsor your schools today for only $200.00 per school! Working together we can all make a difference! A public version of our school videos (which includes additional footage and material) is available on DVD for only $47.
