"What Emotion Does Drug Use Begin With?" Test Results (and an Additional Quiz) Recently, I posed a quiz to our readers asking "What emotion does drug use begin with?" In a moment, I will give you the results of that quiz. But first, what is the importance of knowing the answer to this question? Understanding what emotion kids are experiencing when making the decision to do drugs is critical to steering them away from them. Too often we think someone's drug use began with a tragedy or a familial trauma or dysfunction. Nothing could be further from the truth. Such misconception could explain why we've been unable to resolve the drug epidemic. At Friends of Narconon we are making progress in our long-range strategy to bring the full Truth About Drugs video series to our youth. We are now working on the next video "Drugs and Emotions". This video provides an insight to the actual emotion kids go through when they first start drugs and more importantly, what causes that emotion! Factually, you who answered the quiz are all part of the development phase for this new video! The purpose of the quiz was to determine what percentage of the public would know the answer. The majority didn't. Out of those who responded, 62% answered incorrectly with "fear," "apathy," "anxiety," and "anger." Boredom is the correct answer per Bobby Wiggins, one of Narconon's top Drug Prevention Specialists. This was established by surveys. It provides an insight and opens the door to handling the problem of drug abuse amongst youth. And that is what the new video "Drugs and Emotions" is all about ... And that is what the new video "Drugs and Emotions" is all about --unraveling the mystery about the emotional state kids are in when they start taking drugs, so that prevention can be successful. But there is more! Not only does the new video reveal the emotional side of things, it also uncovers the very thing that CAUSES this emotional condition. I bet you are wondering what that is. Well, I think you'll be amazed to find out. And imagine what having those answers can do for a teenager! This brings us to the next quiz. It is a little tricky, so give it some thought. I need at least 50 responses before I can release the results. I could use your help in passing this briefing on to your e-mail list. Just send a note to Donna Miller telling her how many you sent out (we don't need your list, just how many). Please send me back your response to this question: "What is the cause of boredom?" As promised, there will be gifts going out to all those who got the correct answer to the last quiz. It is a surprise, so be on the look-out for it. There will be gifts for those who turn in correct answers to this new question, plus I will let you in on some very interesting statistics. Put your thinking caps on! And while you are at it, why not sponsor a few schools? The kids need your help! Don't Wait! Call Friends of Narconon and sponsor a school today. It only costs $200 to sponsor a school with our drug education videos and materials. We have videos for Primary Schools, Junior-High and High Schools. Each video can reach over 3,000 students during its life (only 7 cents per student!). A public version of our school videos (which includes additional footage and material) is available on DVD for $47. Contact Donna Miller at Friends of Narconon. CALL Donna Miller at 1-800-882-6862.
