Salvaging Our Future Generations In our last briefing we talked about the drop in marijuana use and the increase in ecstasy use as noted by the Monitoring the Future Survey. There is another interesting factor in this survey that I want to bring to your attention. It has to do with understanding how the Friends of Narconon video program, which many of you are supporting, can have an impact on future generations. In other words, can we as a group affect a change on the way our kids think about drugs or not and as a result lower drug abuse? This survey noted that older students showed the sharpest drops in drug use, which reflects declines in previous years among eighth- and 10th-graders who have carried their lower drug use with them as they age. This is the key point in understanding how our video program can have an impact on our future generations. So if we are educating kids in the eight grade about drugs, and they make firm decisions about them at that time, they are less likely to be using drugs in their senior school years. As this report has indicated, drug use has dropped the most among older students. And since drug use has been dropping in recent years, it makes sense that kids who decided not to use drugs when they were younger are now not using drugs when they are older. Thus we can now see, statistically, that ....... Thus we can now see, statistically, that older kids are not using drugs as much as they used to. And that is the key point of the Narconon Drug Education Program. This report provides, for the first time, some insight into whether or not we can affect a change of drug use in our future generations. It provides us with a glimmer of hope that we can actually change minds and save lives! Now all we need to do is increase the volume of our efforts so that we can reach more kids faster. All this takes is your support in sponsoring schools. You can also refer your friends and business associates to help in reaching more kids with this valuable information. This is a critical time in our school year. We have Red Ribbon week upon us. This is a national campaign where schools all over the country participate in anti-drug activities. So now is the time we need your help to reach even more kids. And judging by this report, the sooner the better! Do what you can to sponsor more schools today. And make sure to refer your friends and business associates to help us too! It is this type of good news that shows we can really make a difference in our future. So don't wait! Call Donna Miller and sponsor some schools today! 1-800-882-6862 Sincerely, Robert Hernandez, CCDC* P.S. To Sponsor a school.
