Get the TRUTH!

I recently reviewed an interesting statistic regarding Ecstasy-related deaths.

Since 1997 there has been a 600% increase in ecstasy-related deaths in England alone.

The data for the US is not available yet, but from what I can tell, it is in the same range.

What I find most interesting is that groups like the Drug Policy Alliance continue to support the "Safe Use" of drugs, while pretending to be against them.

Have a look at what they say on their web site:

"The Drug Policy Alliance is working toward educating young people and parents honestly about Ecstasy through our Safety First Project." [I.e. learn how to use drugs "safely."]

"Furthermore, on the federal and state levels, the Alliance advocates just laws and tries to prevent the enactment of exceedingly harsh penalties." [I.e . Let's treat the dealers, whose drugs are killing our kids, more kindly!]

Lastly, the DPA supports continued research on long-term effects and the potential for therapeutic uses of drugs.

How therapeutic is Ecstasy?

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) says the following:

"Users of MDMA (also known as ecstasy) face many of the same risks as users of other stimulants such as cocaine and amphetamines.

"These include increase in heart rate and blood pressure, a special risk for people with circulatory problems or heart disease, and other symptoms such as muscle tension, involuntary teeth clenching, nausea, blurred vision, faintness, and chills or sweating."

And they forgot to mention DEATH.
