So now there is an attempt to turn Ecstasy into a medication? Recent stories have surfaced about Ecstasy easing Parkinson's disease like muscle rigidity. One headline read, "Mice get help from drugs." What I find interesting in all this is that we know media is created. The fact is, there are reports going back to 2001 on this approach of Ecstasy possibly helping with a disease. Last year, Peter Jennings, on ABC Network in the USA, aired a special about Ecstasy. This particular show did nothing but attempt to discredit the science on Ecstasy causing brain damage. The entire one-hour show did nothing but put a positive spin on Ecstasy. So why would that be? Who would gain from creating such a campaign? When you look at all these elements in our society you can see there is a lot going on here. It is obvious that vested interest would love to have Ecstasy relegated to "medical use." |
