I was convinced I was doomed...

Before coming to Narconon Arrowhead I was convinced I was doomed to a life stuck in the vicious cycle of relapse.

I couldn't accept the fact that not only could I not stop using drugs but also that other treatments just didn't work.

After a short stint in in-patient treatment (approximately 21 days), followed by outpatient group counseling and the usual meetings I was still stuck in a terrible place.

I was somehow able to stop for awhile but each relapse was worse than the time before.

It became apparent I was either going to live or DIE.

I was in a place I never thought I'd be and I was engaging in the immoral and unethical behavior consistent with addiction. I was a liar and a thief and on my way to dying.

We found the Narconon Arrowhead website and after reading about the sauna program I felt something for the first time in a long time-HOPE.

I knew my body was working against me, I just didn't know how to fix it.

My best friend was desperate to save my life and shared the details of this program with my parents.

One of the most painful moments of my life was telling my parents the extent of my cocaine addiction.

After their initial phone call to Narconon®, I was on an airplane the next day.

So my life began again on May 5, 2005, when I arrived at Narconon Arrowhead.

I started the most amazing program that saved my life.

After completing withdrawal and sauna, I knew my body was back on my side.

Then my mind was available for communication and regaining life skills stolen by addiction.

At some point I knew I was destined to become a staff member.

The staff at Narconon are the most amazing people and their compassion and dedication changed my life forever.

Watching them in action and using the technology made me realize I wanted that for myself.

I wanted to be apart of this incredible team.

After graduating the program the desire to save lives has only gotten stronger.

Now I can realize this dream. Not only did the program save my life, but the lives of my family, friends and loved ones as well.

We are all eternally grateful.

I now have authentic existence.

News and Topics of Interest
The abuse of prescription drugs has increased dramatically in recent years, with marked increases in the abuse of some of the online pharmacies' best-selling products, such as narcotic painkillers and anxiety drugs like Valium. Hydrocodone, the active ingredient in Vicodin, Lortab and Lorcet, seems to have seen the biggest jump in usage. In its annual drug use survey, the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration found prescription drugs were second in popularity only to marijuana among substance abusers last year. In 2002, some 6.2 million Americans - 2.6 percent of the population 12 and over - were nonmedical users of prescription drugs, meaning they had abused drugs at least once in the month before taking part in the SAMHSA survey.
