A recent online Yahoo® survey asked to “list three reasons why young teenagers take drugs.” The reason given most frequently was “peer pressure.” Since the majority of youth have no reliable information about the dangers of drugs such as marijuana, Exstasy, methamphetamine, cocaine, etc. they rely on their friends for "information" and so become the victims of peer pressure. Obviously, kids who know the truth about drugs, cannot be pressured into taking them! Here is a sample from those surveys: "Drugs mess up your system. I think that I won't take drugs because I don't want to feel the side effects. " "Thank you so much; you are making a big difference." YOU CAN HELP! |
